If you have your backlinks turned on then other writers can link to
your blog post. This is an easy way for bloggers to increase their
content (especially pro bloggers) while they are linking to your blog.
Create a Back Link to a Blog Post
If there is a post on any of my blogs that you would like to offer your
readers then:
Click the post title
Scroll to the bottom and click 'link'
If you are in blogger a little post window opens up and you can write
an intro and voila - you have content and a link.
But - for this to work - the host blog must have back links turned on.
You can find rules for allowing backlinks to your blog .
There are many bloggers, like myself who will write content and then include a link to another blog. This helps increase the Page Rank of both blogs. This is one way of giving readers more content without posting free content articles on your blog.
The back link tool is just something that makes life simpler. The following is a screen shot of a blog post I wrote by clicking the create a link tool at the bottom of a post. The blogger box opened up after I clicked 'create a link.' Then I typed in my introduction.
The only bad thing about this tool is that it doesn't open the next link in a new browser. This leads people away from your blog.
Of course, this does work if you use it to link articles between your blogs.
Few new bloggers realize that most blog platforms include a tool to make it easier for people to blog to their posts. They know they need links, but they mix up the 'create a link' tool for backlinks with the trackbacks that spammers use.
A 'create a link' tool lets 'other' people link to your blog.
A track back tool is something that ads someone else's link to your blog. They are favored by spammers.
Track Backs
Track backs were meant to share promotion. You posted about a friend, then they came back and put a link to their post - so people who wanted to read more on the topic could follow the track backs.
What happened was a nightmare. I had a few of my "once" top blogs which accumulated 1900 trackbacks to spam, gambling, porn, sites in only a few hours. It was a nightmare.
This should help your campaign.
