I'm always looking for place to learn good SEO information. Some of them just rehash information that is old. A lot of the time I check the Code on the page. You can tell a lot about the way a page is coded. It proves, beyond a doubt, whether the webmaster knows what they are talking about.
I've found a few good websites worth reviewing. I found the following website through a referal. It is worth taking a look at: http://www.maxwebdesign.eu/
There is a good tutorial that teaches the basics needed to for design and programming a Search Engine Optimized (SEO) website. This information is vital for anyone who wants to archive back links.
I can't say that I agree with all the points in this tutorial, but the SEO information is sound. Their warning to new webmasters to take their time, don't rush link building, is a bonus.
About the only design aspect that I didn't like about the site was the lack of an index. I love indexes. I can review several articles on one subject without surfing through several pages.
This is a great site for anyone who is interested in DIY web development. I feel that any web site deserves two thumbs up if they tell the truth about web design and development. It is an ever evolving dicipline that requires constant updating.
The content is light, less than 10 posts a month, but it is all original, and the content is good.
